This is why I don’t streak. I took/had to take a four day hiatus in the middle of #neonrunstreak. Mr. Neon texted me Wednesday afternoon and said he felt like garbage. He’s not a big complainer when he’s sick, unlike most men. Man cold? He took Thursday off work and went to the doctor. Poor guy had strep. Yuck. He gets it easily. I think he’s had it 3 or 4 times in his 12 years of teaching. Thankfully, I don’t get it easily and have only had it once in my lifetime. Watch out…I probably just jinxed myself. I was dealing with other issues and just needed some time off. We got most of our Christmas shopping done over the weekend, so that was a big plus.

I’m back on the #neonfitstreak. I did 3 easy treadmill miles yesterday and 30 minutes on the bike trainer this morning. I am officially averaging 15mph on the bike trainer now! Big accomplishment. 2016 was definitely not the year I thought it would be in my fitness life. It has turned into the year of the bike. I’ve made some big gains on the bike. But more than that…I look forward to bike mornings.

I’m starting to get excited about Christmas. We have so many little traditions with the boys. I really worried that last year was our last year of Santa magic, but Runner Boy is still holding on to his beliefs. I think I discovered “the truth” in 3rd grade, so he’s lasted a year longer than I did.

I’m still working on the 2017 goals post. I’ll probably wait until after Christmas to post it. Between Christmas and New Years is when I get all excited about next year’s race plans.

Stay neon!

I recently gave up my second cup(s) of coffee in the afternoon. It kind of happened on its own when we were in Indiana for XC nationals. I still need to do a post about that trip. Now I’m wishing I hadn’t given it up. It’s COLD and coffee sounds good. And it’s going to get COLDER. This is the time of year that I miss those 40 extra lbs. They kept me warm.

For those wondering, #neonfitstreak is still happening! I did have one lapse on day 9. I didn’t work out in the morning before work and did not have time after work because we had plans with friends. Instead of getting bent out of shape and throwing my hands in the air and giving up on the streak, I just made up for it on day 10 with an hour workout.

I’m trying to sit down and make some goals for 2017. I have my A race and B race picked out. I sat down with a planner and counted out the weeks of the year. Depending on which plan I pick for both races, I know a rough idea of when I need to start. I have a pretty big goal for 2017. I’m not sure if it’s even achievable, but I’m going to try. Of course, once I make it public on here, it becomes official. I’ll mull it over for a bit more before I go crazy and make a proclamation.

Decisions decisions! Stay neon!
